In the mist of the bridge where we both would meet Amidst water that shines and dead cars on the street All the city’s awake, minds with nowhere to go, In the night, seek the torch, from failing hands they’ll throw In the summer we walk, as the sun always shines In the winter, we walk, as the bus is never on time And we always complain, in the spring, of the snow, And we always point out how the river is low Well I’d rather be sleeping than dreaming of debt (And we always point out how the river is low) I would rather be dead than be caught in a net (And we always point out how the river is low) But without any job I accept what I get (And we always point out how the river is low) Just a look at your teeth and unswallowed regret (And we always point out how the river is low) Well I’m never gonna drive to the country again (And we always point out how the river is low) My heels still healing the mud from the ground (And we always point out how the river is low) With these two brittle legs that could walk me around (And we always point out how the river is low) Through the ash and the dust and the dirty old snow (And we always point out how the river is low) We’ll I’d rather be sleeping than dreaming of dept (And we always point out how the river is low) I would rather be dead than be caught in a net (And we always point out how the river is low) But without any job I accept what I get (And we always point out how the river is low) Just a look at your teeth and unswallowed regret And we always point out how the river is low

Airport 05:44
I hit the hard ground, harmless Regarded alarm sounds, regardless But as I’m taking less and less I’m thanking, praying, Trying to bless The ringing in my ears So I’ve been watching planes and planes and planes And buying airport condoms What remains? All that hearts can do is pump your blood right back, and forth, and through, A route to continue just like the planes You hit my mouth, and scarred it Scabbing sores will disregard it This means less and less and less… {THERE’S A LESSON A LESSON A LESSON…} So watch the airplanes ‘Cause down to earth pain Won’t fly away Watch the airplanes Because the blood stains Won’t fly away So I’ve been watching planes and planes and planes And buying airport condoms What remains? All that hearts can do is pump your blood right back, and forth, and through, A route to continue just like the planes I’ve got nails as sharp as teeth I’ve got a family to feed!!! I’ve got nails as sharp as teeth, I’ve got a family to feed!!!!!! I’VE GOT NAILS AS SHARP AS TEETH I’VE GOT A FAMILY TO…….. Feed. {So watch the airplanes, ‘cause down to earth pain, won’t fly away So watch the airplanes, because the blood stains, won’t fly away} All your legs can do is move your feet right back and forth and through A route to continue just like the planes All your legs can do is move your feet right back and forth and through A route to continue just like the planes OHHH ALL YOUR LEGS CAN DO IS MOVE RIGHT BACK, FORTH, THROUGH AND THROUGH, A ROUTE TO CONTINUE just like the planes

I was told of a cave That gets darker every day And altruistic eyes Are blind to our goodbyes So I just relive and rely But people can’t confide in me like they used to I was told of a night Far too dark to see the fight So I always stayed inside But in light it’s hard to hide So I just relive and rely But people can’t confide in me like they used to But soon I will be reborn And grow as the coming storm With rain to stain the ground Leaving patches of land around So I’ll just give up my own eyes So that people can confide in me like they used to {But you know the truth…}

Let’s go drown ourselves In the speed river On land or in water I’m not a strong swimmer We gave what we could But we bear scars now We could claw our way back To the fountain downtown But amidst all the wrists Strumming stolen guitars With the water as shallow As the men in the bars I COULDN’T RELAX. I can see my house from there, If I look just right, From the top of the hill, In the dead of night.

about

Recorded with and produced by Guelph's own Scott Merritt during the March break of 2012, this is Bedsheets' first official release. Emotions were raw. Enthusiasm was endless. It was awesome.
